Governor Jim Doyle Endorses Tara Johnson for State Senate

Doyle calls Fellow Democrats the Right choice for the 32nd

LaCrosse – Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has endorsed Democrat Tara Johnson for State Senate. Johnson, who is a member of the LaCrosse County Board and a former United Way Director, is running against Senator Dan Kapanke (R-LaCrosse) this fall for the 32nd Senate District. Doyle made the endorsement at an event supporting Tara Johnson's campaign.

"People in Wisconsin deserve to have someone like Tara Johnson represent them in state government, said Doyle. "Tara knows and has what it takes to create jobs. She knows how important it is to support and promote our priorities like health care and economic development while holding the line on taxes. She's proven that while on the County Board. I heartily endorse Tara Johnson for State Senate."

While on County Board, Tara Johnson has been an outspoken advocate for health care reform and for job creation. She worked to open the Lakeview Business Park in LaCrosse, which helped create hundreds of good paying jobs, while working to build a regional partnership that kept the Lakeview Medical center open and serving hundreds of area families.

"I'm honored to have the support of Governor Jim Doyle," added Johnson. "His leadership on health care reform and economic development makes me very proud to be a Wisconsin Democrat. I look forward to working with him to move Wisconsin forward next year."
